Skruluce is working on some projects for a photography class, and of all four of the pictures he put up for critiquing, I found this one to be the most interesting.
I do not know if it was done on purpose or not, but the one thing that stuck out at me was that the flower in the foreground is out of focus, and the one behind it is in focus. You can tell this by the detail seen on the flower in the back, where the one in the front is slightly blurred. I don't know if this is considered good 'hotography', as I am not one who takes many pictures, but I find it very interesting and somewhat appealing.
The flower in the background shows more detail, right down to the very veins on the pedals itself, he obviously has a camera that is very good on picking up detail. In a more professional photo, however, I think a soft brush could have been used to wipe away the excess pollen that has fallen on the pedal, as leaving it there makes the flower look spotted. However, this may be personal preference, I'm not 100% sure on that.
In all, this is a very nice photo. Excellent work by the artist.
